Terahertz radiation from femtosecond laser filaments in air

摘 要: Terahertz (THz) radiation from laser induced air plasma has attracted much interest in the recent years, mainly due to its potential application for remote sensing. In this talk, I will first talk about the Terahertz radiation from laser filaments formed in air [1, 2, 3]. Experiment results will be compared with our theoretical model and simulations. Then I will present several methods for the enhancement of the THz energy [4, 5, 6]. Finally, I will describe a method to control the directionality of the THz radiation from a filament array [7], which is of high interest for applications.
